About Me

Austin Warren RMT is a Registered Massage Therapist who completed his training at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2018. During his education, he was able to participate in many outreach opportunities in the Vancouver communities, where he treated various conditions. Austin worked with elderly patients, college athletes, those with intellectual and physical disabilities, and those living with HIV and cancer. Additionally, he was recruited as an athletic trainer at St. George’s Senior School, where he assessed and treated acute onset injuries. Furthermore, he worked with the private school’s athletes during rugby, soccer, basketball, and hockey games or practices.

Massage Therapy Techniques

Austin incorporates many techniques into his treatments, including:

  • Myofascial Release
  • Trigger-Point Therapy
  • Neuromuscular Techniques
  • Dynamic Release
  • Joint Mobilizations
  • Swedish Massage

Additionally, he has explored manual lymphatic drainage and craniosacral therapy in introductory courses. Nonetheless, he is very eager to continue advancing his repertoire of manual techniques in his continuing education. Also, Austin’s new-found enthusiasm for health and wellness motivates him to remain current in medical advances and inspires him to perhaps pursue a future career in osteopathy or medicine.

Massage Therapy Treatments

Austin is highly trained to treat a wide variety of conditions and pathologies. From musculoskeletal conditions such as strains or sprains to systemic conditions like pregnancy or fibromyalgia, he can use manual therapy to rehabilitate traumatic injuries and provide symptom relief. In addition, his treatments aim to help your return to functional activities of daily life. Austin is particularly interested in treating neurological conditions stemming from the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system (nerves branching from the spinal cord).

Before pursuing massage therapy, Austin went to the music school at the University of Victoria to seek a career in vocal performance, piano accompaniment, and music education. He maintains his passion for music, actively participating in a large community chorus and teaching music lessons to those interested. Further, Austin may explore music therapy as an alternative or combined treatment modality in the future.
